Mid-Shore Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Inc. (AMI)

Mid-Shore AMI is a support and advocacy group of families and friends of individuals afflicted with severe mental illness, such as schizophrenia and affective disorders.

We are not alone. Our association is affiliated with both Maryland and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Today, there are more than 140,000 member families organized with 1140 groups in 50 states including Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia.

AMI is hope. It is hope that unity will give us strength. We share an intense, clear purpose. That purpose is to obtain adequate care and help for our nation’s mentally ill and their families. To achieve our purpose, our task includes expansion of clearly focused bio-medical research, adequate community support programs, and public education.
